What do we know about the Epstein files so far?
On Feb. 27, Bondi released over of documents pertaining to Epstein as part of the Trump Administration’s promise to increase transparency regarding the high-profile case. During the presidential election, Trump in response to demands for the alleged “client list” of Epstein following his arrest and subsequent suicide in 2019.
While Bondi described this as the “first phase” of declassified files, the public response was muted because much of the information was redacted.
Bondi’s release included Epstein’s “black book,” which had been previously published. It contained names such as Trump and former President Bill Clinton, but as the pointed out, the book included individuals who had never even met Epstein, meaning that the listed names do not necessarily indicate a connection to Epstein’s activities.
One of the few previously unseen documents included was an “Evidence List” detailing evidence cataloged by investigators.
Bondi the incompleteness of the report, that the FBI possessed further Epstein-related information. Bondi instructed Patel to provide the remaining investigative documents and “conduct an immediate investigation” to determine why she had only received a portion of the files.
There is considerable debate as to whether a comprehensive “Epstein client list” even exists.
Jacob Shamsian, Business Insider’s legal correspondent who has been covering the Epstein case, stated : “I should also point out that the ‘Jeffrey Epstein client list’ does not exist and makes no sense on multiple levels (you think he made a list???).
