Trump’s Knesset Address Disrupted by Israeli Opposition Lawmakers

Two legislators displayed placards advocating for “Recognize Palestine”
During US President Donald Trump’s address on Monday, two Israeli Knesset members were ejected from the assembly for presenting pro-Palestinian placards.
Ayman Odeh and Ofer Cassif, representatives of the predominantly Arab Hadash-Ta’al coalition, unfurled signs declaring “Recognize Palestine!” – which instantly sparked strong disapproval among fellow parliamentarians.
Mr. Trump paused, remaining silent while the parliamentarians were swiftly led away. He subsequently commented, “That was very efficient,” prior to resuming his address.
Cassif justified his conduct on X, stating that Trump represented “part of the problem, not a solution,” and that “genuine peace necessitates an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel.”
Odeh likewise explained his protest, noting, “I was expelled from the Knesset merely for articulating the most basic demand, a point upon which the entire international community concurs: Recognize the State of Palestine!”

The American president traveled to Israel to supervise the execution of an accord he facilitated, wherein Hamas released the final 20 living captives in return for approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded Trump as the “foremost ally” Israel has ever known.
