Pakistani troops deployed to Saudi Arabia under defense pact
(SeaPRwire) – Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry announced that a Pakistani military contingent has reached King Abdulaziz Air Base, in line with a strategic defense agreement between the two nations.
The Pakistani contingent includes air force fighter planes and auxiliary aircraft, according to a statement from the ministry. This action seeks to boost bilateral military collaboration, improve operational preparedness, and uphold security and stability across the region, the statement added.
In September 2025, Saudi Arabia and nuclear-armed Pakistan inked a mutual defense agreement, which states: “Any aggression directed at either nation will be regarded as an aggression against both.” Since Iran launched retaliatory strikes on its Middle Eastern neighbors—including Saudi Arabia—the two countries have held multiple discussions regarding the agreement.
Pakistan’s armed forces did not immediately reply to a request for additional details.
