Life360 CEO describes her family’s ‘1950s structure in reverse,’ where husband handles childcare and domestic duties while she focuses on career and finances.

While many CEOs begin their workday before dawn, with leaders from Nvidia, Apple, and Disney favoring early mornings and strict routines to manage global companies, Life360 CEO [Name Redacted] adopts a different strategy.
Instead of a rigid daily schedule, Antonoff describes her workdays as “organic,” influenced more by the monthly flow than by the clock.
“I really think about my routine less in terms of what the morning tonight is, and really what the rhythm is over the course of a month,” she told [Publication Name Redacted].
On a typical day, she starts work around 8:30 a.m., a relatively relaxed start by some CEO standards. Her schedule thereafter is largely determined by her initial meetings.
“Every day for me is very different,” she stated. “I have probably a lot of meetings, but I try to also get time to read and reflect and communicate with people on my team.”
Antonoff pointed out that this flexibility is intentional and would not have been possible without domestic support. While she rose to lead a tech company with a market capitalization exceeding $7 billion and managed the household’s finances, her husband took on the primary role of childcare and household management. Although he has worked as a real estate broker and entrepreneur, he was largely a stay-at-home parent during their children’s upbringing.
Antonoff characterizes this as a “1950s family structure in reverse.”
“Our children are now officially adults, but [my husband] did all the child care and all the cooking and cleaning and all of that stuff, and I do, the making the money and paying the taxes and that kind of stuff,” she elaborated.
She encourages families, especially working parents, to adopt arrangements that genuinely suit them, rather than adhering to traditional models.
“Giving yourself permission to depart from tradition can be incredibly freeing,” she commented. “I feel incredibly lucky to have a career that supports our unusual arrangement, and an amazing husband who takes care of our family and me (and doesn’t make me do dishes).”
Forget work-life balance, Antonoff is a ‘workavert’
Having a less regimented work schedule does not imply Antonoff dedicates less time to her work; in fact, it suggests the opposite.
“I don’t have work-life [balance]—they’re not separate to me,” she said, adding that she identifies not as an introvert or extrovert, but as a “workavert,” meaning she draws energy from her professional endeavors.
Even outside of work hours, she actively pursues her interest in business, whether by learning about an intriguing company or analyzing a challenge presented by a friend.
Antonoff is not alone in this approach. Several prominent business leaders have openly embraced lives centered around their work.
For [Name Redacted], the concept of work-life balance is unattainable for those striving for significant achievements.
“If you are leading an extraordinary life to think that extraordinary effort wouldn’t be coupled to that somehow is crazy,” Grede remarked on The Diary of a CEO podcast.
[Name Redacted], president and CEO of the [Company Name Redacted] 500 financial services company, has consistently shared this view, labeling work-life balance as a “lie.”
Instead, she proactively manages her days to effectively balance her responsibilities at home and in the office.
“The truth is I only have 100% of me, not 110%. Understanding that I am not 100% allocated to being a mom, they only get 30%, allows me to be more intentional,” Duckett told [News Outlet Name Redacted] News in 2024. “So my children don’t get 100% of all of me. But within that allocation, they get 100%.”
Others take this dedication even further. Nvidia CEO [Name Redacted] has stated he wakes at 4:30 a.m. to respond to emails and is constantly engaged with work, even during mundane activities like washing dishes or watching a movie. He has also mentioned never taking a day off, working seven days a week, including holidays.
