Bitcoin’s price action has been a wild ride, with the delay of the Clarity Act casting a shadow. The U.S. Senate’s decision to postpone the vote until at least September has added regulatory uncertainty. This delay removed a near – term event traders eyed as a potential market catalyst. Meanwhile, Bitcoin trades near $65,098, up 0.88% in 24 hours.
Despite the legislative hold – up, institutional demand remains strong. Since July 29, Bitcoin whales holding 10 to 10,000 BTC have accumulated over 20,000 BTC. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have also seen four straight days of inflows, totaling $754 million. This shows that big players are still interested in Bitcoin, even without clear regulatory direction.
The geopolitical situation around the Strait of Hormuz is another factor influencing the Bitcoin market. Iran and Oman are discussing a new commercial shipping framework. The proposed plan would let ships enter the Persian Gulf via an Iranian route and exit through Omani waters. However, the Trump administration opposes it due to potential transit fees. Iranian lawmakers are also working on legislation to restrict access for certain vessels.
U.S. Central Command has intercepted or redirected 45 commercial vessels since the mid – July maritime blockade. President Trump claims the conflict is nearing an end, but Iranian officials deny direct talks with Washington, saying discussions are through intermediaries. These geopolitical tensions can cause market volatility as investors look for safe – haven assets like Bitcoin.
From a technical perspective, Bitcoin’s weekly chart shows it’s testing a long – term rising trendline. The trendline meets a support area between $55,000 and $60,000. The weekly RSI is near 40.66, with its moving average around 40.17. A sustained move above $65,000 could target the $67,000 resistance level. A break below the $55,000 – $60,000 zone could expose the next support near $25,000 – $27,000.
The future of Bitcoin’s price will likely hinge on both regulatory developments and geopolitical outcomes. If the Clarity Act passes favorably in September, it could boost Bitcoin. Similarly, a resolution in the Strait of Hormuz situation might calm markets and influence Bitcoin’s direction.
