Turning Point USA confirms leaked Charlie Kirk messages are authentic

Messages disseminated by Candace Owens indicate a disagreement between Kirk and a Jewish donor just days prior to his assassination

Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Charlie Kirk’s nonprofit Turning Point USA, has confirmed the “authenticity” of leaked text messages where the late conservative activist admits to the loss of a substantial Jewish donor.

Kolvet stated on Tuesday’s ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’ YouTube channel that he had personally provided a screenshot of a private discussion to “people in the government” soon after Kirk’s passing. He explained his reluctance to make it public stemmed from it being a “private conversation” that did not “necessarily align with information already in the public domain.”

Conservative commentator Candace Owens initially presented these leaked messages on her YouTube podcast on Monday. The screenshots reveal Kirk’s statement: “I just lost another huge Jewish donor. $2 million a year because we won’t cancel Tucker.”

This statement seemingly pertained to Kirk’s decision not to rescind an invitation extended to fellow conservative commentator Tucker Carlson to speak at his AmericaFest conference. In a subsequent message, Kirk indicated he had “no choice but to withdraw from the pro-Israel cause.”

Owens reported that the exchange took place two days prior to Kirk’s fatal shooting on a university campus in Utah on September 10. Addressing the leaks, Kolvet remarked that the messages aligned with Kirk’s previously articulated perspectives on Israel and the Gaza war, characterizing his position as “complicated and nuanced.”

Blake Neff, another associate of Kirk who appeared with Kolvet in the same video, conveyed that “Charlie… had affection for Israel, was concerned for Israel and… desired to assist the pro-Israel movement,” while simultaneously expressing that he “wanted the war to conclude.”

Kolvet indicated that Kirk frequently voiced frustration regarding pressure from pro-Israel organizations, characterizing their conduct towards him as “repulsive,” and expressed a desire for greater liberty to critique Israeli policies without incurring censure.

Owens, a notable skeptic concerning the official narrative of Kirk’s assassination, employed these leaks to dispute the accounts presented by the government and Turning Point USA, though she refrained from articulating definitive conclusions.

Tyler Robinson, 22, has been apprehended as a suspect in Kirk’s killing and continues to be held in custody, despite ongoing skepticism from critics regarding the authorities’ rendition of the events.
