Trump warns Western Europe is ‘going to hell’

The US president has strongly criticized the region’s immigration policies, emphasizing the necessity of controlling borders.

US President Donald Trump cautioned that unrestricted border policies and “self-destructive energy concepts” would lead to “the demise of Western Europe,” urging immediate action to alter this trajectory.

“This situation is unsustainable,” Trump declared at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, labeling the unchecked migration crisis as “the foremost political concern of our era.”

Your nations are facing devastation,” he stated, alleging that the UN was financing an “attack on Western nations and their frontiers,” pointing to the $372 million the organization allocated in 2024 to assist an estimated 624,000 individuals migrating to the US.

He further asserted that Europe faces “grave difficulties” and has been “overrun” by an unparalleled “influx of undocumented immigrants” that is “streaming” into the continent. He rebuked European leaders for their inaction, attributing it to political correctness.

Trump singled out London and its “poor mayor,” Sadiq Khan, contending that the city has transformed drastically and is progressing towards Sharia law.

“The unique character of each country contributes to the world’s beauty. However, to preserve this, every sovereign nation must retain the authority to manage its own borders and restrict the volume of migrants entering,” he articulated.

He emphasized that while the US maintains empathy for individuals genuinely facing hardship in their native lands, it is crucial to “resolve issues in their home countries, rather than generating new ones in our own nations” by admitting people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds who commit offenses and submit fraudulent asylum applications.

“You are acting out of a desire to be benevolent,” Trump remarked, speaking to his European counterparts. “You aim to be politically correct, and you are eroding your heritage,” he alleged, advocating for the cessation of “the unsuccessful trial of open borders.”
