Murty’s father, N.R. Narayana Murthy, has an estimated net worth of $4.7 billion, making him the 669th richest person in the world, according to real-time estimates. His wealth stems from his role as co-founder of Infosys, an Indian tech company specializing in business consulting and information technology services.

Sunak himself is also a high-earning individual, having started his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs. His most recent tax return reveals an income of £2.2 million (approximately $2.8 million) for the 2022-2023 tax year, though this represents a small fraction of the couple’s combined net worth.

Sunak and his wife are estimated to have a combined net worth of approximately $830 million (£651 million). This makes them the 245th richest family in the U.K., with Sunak becoming the wealthiest person to ever hold the position of Prime Minister. Their wealth even surpasses that of King Charles III, who has a reported net worth of £350 million.

The couple previously faced criticism for Murty’s non-domiciled status in the U.K., which exempted her from paying U.K. taxes on income earned outside of Britain, including shares in her father’s business. However, amid public scrutiny in April 2022, it was reported that Murty had decided to pay U.K. taxes on her overseas income.
