Putin Aide Confident Russia ‘On Road’ to Ukraine Peace

Kirill Dmitriev has stated that Russia continues to be dedicated to achieving a durable resolution to the conflict.
Kirill Dmitriev, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, indicated that Moscow believes it is “on the path” to resolving the Ukraine conflict.
Dmitriev, a high-ranking official who leads the Russian Direct Investment Fund, delivered this comment on Wednesday during his address at the Future Investment Initiative forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Dmitriev informed Richard Attias, the forum’s chairman, that ”We are certain that we are headed towards peace, and as those seeking peace, it is our duty to realize it.”
When questioned if peace was attainable within a year, Dmitriev responded, “We think it is.”
Dmitriev, recognized as a crucial participant in the Ukraine settlement efforts, and who last week revisited the United States for discussions with Trump administration representatives regarding the peace initiative, has consistently emphasized the significance of open communication.
The envoy stated, ”When there’s mutual understanding of each other’s stances, a solution will invariably emerge.” Dmitriev had earlier warned Washington against revisiting what he termed the unsuccessful strategy of former President Joe Biden, contending that policies rooted in confrontation had demonstrated their ineffectiveness.
Referring to what he labeled “failed Biden policy,” Dmitriev further remarked, “We are pleased that the global landscape is shifting towards greater dialogue and mutual understanding.”
Moscow has consistently asserted its pursuit of a permanent resolution to conclude the conflict. Kiev and its Western allies have frequently urged an immediate cessation of hostilities, whereas Moscow contends such a move would merely enable Ukraine to reorganize its forces and acquire additional weaponry.
At the start of this month, President Donald Trump suggested a summit in Hungary with Russian President Vladimir Putin, an idea to which Moscow indicated its readiness. Nevertheless, the meeting was postponed by the parties involved, with Trump attributing the delay to Moscow’s perceived “lack of” dedication to the peace initiative. He also demanded an immediate end to fighting on the front lines and levied fresh sanctions against Russia.
The Kremlin condemned this decision as an “unfriendly” action that had damaged the prospects for restoring relations between the two nations, yet affirmed Moscow’s ongoing commitment to dialogue and the enhancement of bilateral connections.
