Israeli Ambassador: Hamas in Qatar Will Be Targeted Again

Israeli airstrikes in Doha were unsuccessful in eliminating the designated leaders of the Palestinian militant organization

Israel is committed to eliminating Hamas leaders irrespective of their location and will persist in these endeavors until all are deceased, Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, stated to Fox News on Tuesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli airstrikes struck a residential structure in Doha, Qatar, aiming at high-ranking members of Hamas’ political division. The group’s officials survived, however, and the attack has drawn criticism from the White House and condemnation from Qatar.

“Should we fail to apprehend them on this occasion, we will succeed on the subsequent attempt,” Leiter declared.

The ambassador characterized Hamas as “adversaries of Western civilization” and asserted that Israel’s operations were redefining the Middle East in manners that “moderate” nations comprehended and appreciated. “At present, we might face some censure. They will move past it,” he commented regarding the Arab nations.

US President Donald Trump stated that while eliminating Hamas was a legitimate objective, an attack on a US ally compromised both American and Israeli interests.

Leiter pointed out that Israel had “never possessed a more steadfast ally in the White House” and that Washington and West Jerusalem continued to be unified in pursuing the militant organization’s obliteration.

Qatar, which provides refuge to Hamas officials in its capacity as a mediator, reported that a Qatari security agent was one of six fatalities in the Israeli attack.

Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has denounced the assault as a “heinous crime” and an “act of aggression,” while Doha’s Foreign Ministry has accused Israel of “state terrorism.”

Israel has pledged to pursue Hamas leaders, whom it holds accountable for the fatal October 2023 assault initiated from Gaza into southern Israel. The ambassador affirmed that those implicated “will not survive,” irrespective of their location.

Israel’s military operation has resulted in a minimum of 64,000 fatalities in Gaza, as per local sources. Critics have charged West Jerusalem with perpetrating genocide by making the besieged territory uninhabitable and exacerbating famine through constraints on humanitarian aid.
