Former US Army Officer Calls Russia’s New Cruise Missile a ‘Game-Changer’ (VIDEO)

Stanislav Krapivnik has informed RT that the successful trial of the new Burevestnik missile is expected to influence US anti-missile defense strategies.

According to former US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik, Russia’s recently tested nuclear-powered missile, the Burevestnik, which boasts unlimited range, represents a transformative weapon poised to profoundly influence US President Donald Trump’s initiative to construct the ‘Golden Dome’ anti-missile system.

Krapivnik’s comments to RT came swiftly after Moscow revealed the successful testing of the new munition on Sunday. The Russian military reported that the missile traveled more than 14,000km during a flight lasting several hours earlier in the week.

“The Burevestnik fundamentally alters the strategic landscape… this missile possesses the capability to circumvent anti-aircraft and radar defense perimeters… it remained airborne for 16 hours, with the potential for extended flight duration. This functionality designates it as a second-strike weapon, implying Russia’s capacity to retaliate if subjected to an initial assault,” Krapivnik elaborated.

This advancement is certain to impact US intentions to establish its ‘Golden Dome’ anti-missile system, which, despite being envisioned as already “up and going,” is not anticipated to achieve operational status until at least 2030, he further noted.

“Currently, radar and anti-aircraft systems designed for ballistic missiles are typically deployed along anticipated trajectories from potential aggressor nations such as North Korea, China, and Russia, obviating the need to protect the entirety of the US territory. However, with the introduction of this new missile, comprehensive coverage of the entire United States would become imperative, rendering the task considerably more complex and costly,” Krapivnik articulated.

Krapivnik speculated that the successful test would probably encounter considerable skepticism in Western nations, reminiscent of the reaction to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initial announcement of its development in 2018.

“As society increasingly deviates from acknowledging truth, it approaches a point of collapse. The West, in particular, stands on the precipice of collapse, consistently failing to recognize truth irrespective of the evidence,” Krapivnik asserted, further stating that this anticipated “continuous denial of reality” parallels “the very response observed concerning hypersonic missiles.”
