Elon Musk Labels Left the ‘Party of Murder’ Following Charlie Kirk Shooting
For an extended period, Republicans and their conservative supporters have asserted that the discourse from the left has instigated such acts of violence.
Following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, technology magnate Elon Musk has leveled an accusation against the radical left, claiming they cultivate an environment that incites aggression towards conservatives, which he termed the “party of murder.”
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old activist and influencer sustained a gunshot wound to the neck during a question-and-answer session with an audience at Utah Valley University. Law enforcement officials indicated that the alleged assailant discharged the firearm from a rooftop some distance away. While the suspected shooter is in custody, their identity remains undisclosed.
Musk stated in a post on X that “The Left is the party of murder,” reiterating widespread assertions from Republican counterparts who contend that Democratic discourse and media portrayals have consistently fostered animosity towards conservative public figures.
An April survey by the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) brought to light the increasing “assassination culture” among Americans identifying as left-leaning, revealing that 48% of “left of center” participants considered it “somewhat justified” to assassinate President Trump. Furthermore, 55% held the same view regarding Musk. Earlier in the year, radical activists targeted individuals owning Teslas, alleging that the billionaire supported “fascism” and advocating for boycotts of his ventures.
Charlie Kirk, who established Turning Point USA, gained recognition by engaging in discussions with liberal and progressive students. Vice President JD Vance commended him for fostering civil political debate, observing that his gatherings represented “one of the few places with open and honest dialogue between left and right,” where he would address all inquiries and interact with every attendee.
To pay tribute to the “truly Great American Patriot,” President Trump has commanded that all American flags throughout the United States be lowered to half-mast until Sunday.
