Jiangsu’s Cultural Showcase Invites Spain to Experience Exquisite Embroidery and Eastern Grace
China Cultural Center in Madrid
MADRID, Oct. 29, 2025 – The “Charm of Jiangsu” Cultural and Tourism Promotion Conference, featuring the “Weaving Water in Silk, Eastern Elegance” Embroidery Art Exhibition, will commence on November 4, 2025, at the China Cultural Centre in Madrid, Spain. The event is designed to showcase Jiangsu’s rich cultural heritage and unique appeal to a Spanish audience.
Running until the end of November, the exhibition will present silk masterpieces from the Suzhou Silk Museum and Nanjing Yunjin Museum, including models of traditional looms, auspicious designs, and a reproduction of Qing Dynasty brocade created by a Song brocade weaving technique inheritor. The exhibition will feature four national intangible cultural heritages, demonstrating their creative transformation into modern home décor and innovative cultural products. Suzhou embroidery artists will recreate Picasso’s abstract art using silk threads, while the Kesi technique will be used to depict court paintings on fashionable garments, paired with high-end European metallic fabrics. A fashion show combining classical aesthetics with contemporary design is also planned.
Concurrently, the “Charm of Jiangsu” Cultural and Tourism Promotion Conference will take place, culminating in a “Jin Fan Dance” performance, blending the grace of Jiangnan fan dance with the energy of flamenco.
The public is invited to experience this journey into eastern aesthetics in Madrid this winter. The event celebrates the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain, and aims to highlight the beauty of Jiangsu and its embroidery culture. Visitors are encouraged to visit Jiangsu after the exhibition to fully experience the art of silk weaving and the charm of Jiangnan.
