Changzhou, China Hosts 2025 International New Energy Expo

CHANGZHOU, China, Sept. 15, 2025 — The 2025 International New Energy Expo, themed “New Energy · New Power · New Changzhou,” commenced on September 13 in Changzhou, China. Changzhou, a hub for China’s new energy sector, has developed a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing power generation, storage, transmission, consumption, and networking. From January to July of this year, the city’s designated-size new energy enterprises achieved an output value exceeding 507.7 billion yuan, marking a 4.3% year-on-year increase. It holds a leading position in China for industrial clustering and has been the most attractive city for investment for three years running.

The opening ceremony of the 2025 International New Energy Expo saw the signing of 33 key projects, representing a total investment of over 33.7 billion yuan and spanning fields such as green hydrogen, energy storage, and smart energy management. International collaboration was a key focus, with several global companies announcing plans to collaborate with Changzhou in areas like green hydrogen and energy storage to accelerate the global energy transition. These project launches and enhanced international cooperation are expected to strengthen the integration and global competitiveness of Changzhou’s new energy industry chain.

At the expo, several leading new energy companies from Changzhou presented their latest advancements in areas such as ultra-fast charging batteries and high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. The expo also introduced an integrated “exhibition + event” approach, launching a public festival in conjunction with the “Jiangsu Football City League” to make new energy technologies more accessible to the public. The exhibition area showcased innovative applications such as new photovoltaic products, virtual power plants, and embodied robots, providing a full view of the industry from technological research and development to practical applications.

Changzhou is using the expo as a platform to embrace innovation and address the need for green development, contributing Chinese insights to the global new energy transition. The Changzhou International Communication Center stated that the city will continue to capitalize on its strengths in manufacturing and application, accelerate scenario innovation and industrial collaboration, establish a new energy hub with international influence, and offer a “Changzhou Solution” for creating a global energy innovation community.
