Cabka and Renewi Unveil Eco CP3 Pallet, Demonstrating Collaboration’s Power for Plastics Circularity
Amsterdam, 11 September 2025 – Cabka N.V., a leader in converting difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into reusable transit packaging, and Renewi, a prominent waste-to-product firm, are delighted to announce their strategic partnership to introduce the Eco CP3 pallet – a robust, recyclable, and cost-effective solution crafted entirely from 100% recycled polyethylene (PE) plastics sourced from Renewi.
This collaboration unites Renewi’s proficiency in sustainable waste management with Cabka’s pioneering work in recycled plastic engineering to provide a new generation of reusable transportation solutions. The Eco CP3 pallet is engineered for over 25 reuses, establishing it as a truly circular alternative in a market primarily using single-use and virgin materials.
“This partnership demonstrates how adopting circular principles and actions yields tangible outcomes: reduced costs and a more sustainable product,” stated Jan Pedro Vis, Vice President Materials at Renewi. “In an industry where virgin plastic is frequently still the preferred option, we are proving that both quality and circularity can indeed coexist.”
“This product development collaboration marks another achievement in Cabka’s ongoing commitment to enhancing plastics circularity,” added Naiara Lorono, Chief Sales Officer at Cabka. “It underscores that genuinely sustainable solutions can be forged through collaboration across the entire value chain.”
Implementing a closed-loop system for tangible results
The Eco CP3 pallet is manufactured in its distinct “Renewi blue” color, allowing for easy identification as a premium recycled product. Renewi utilizes it to transport its recycled regrind to Cabka for pallet production. Worn pallets are fully reprocessed into new ones or repurposed for other high-quality items, as their non-black color makes them infrared detectable. Thanks to this self-contained system, the initial investment is recouped after just four uses.
The pallet adheres to stringent quality criteria, offering enhanced impact resistance and improved stackability, made possible by Cabka’s advanced material processing technology and Renewi’s high-grade PE feedstock. Renewi’s state-of-the-art plastics sorting facility in Eindhoven achieves a polymer purity of at least 95%, illustrating that the high-quality recycling of rigid plastics is both technically viable and significantly contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions.
Advancing circularity through collaboration for a more sustainable future
Despite a temporary market shift favoring virgin plastic, Cabka and Renewi remain steadfast in their commitment to circularity. By promoting the Eco CP3 pallet —a 100% recycled, reusable solution—they are demonstrating that a truly circular supply chain is not only feasible but also competitive with conventional materials.
While European policymakers continue to advocate for a transition to a circular economy, Cabka and Renewi are already delivering concrete solutions that minimize environmental impact and improve financial performance. By decreasing reliance on imported raw materials and mitigating risks associated with virgin plastics, this collaboration establishes a precedent for sustainable innovation.
